Security tips for students:
- Travel on well lit and high traffic roads (even if it takes longer to get home)
- Don’t travel alone if possible
- Stay alert to your surroundings and don’t get distracted by talking on your phone or listening to MP3 player
- Travel in the first safety carriage of trains
- If waiting for a train, stand in a well lit area near security cameras
- Be cautious about reacting to any racial comments
- Have emergency number ‘000’ as speed dial on your mobile
- Don’t feel shy about calling or shouting for help if you are in danger
If you see or experience any attack, make sure you lodge a police complaint. You can also call the College’s critical incident line (24 hours a day) if you need to talk to a College support officer.
